Failius
Failius
Poseidon was outraged that Athena beat him in pleasing the people of Athens. While she was returning to mt. Olympus, Poseidon attacked Athena. In the struggle, a tsunami was created and destroyed a fisherman’s ship. On board the ship was joeius, the father of a young man named Failius. When Zeus found out of the attack on his child, he went to failius’s house and made an agreement with him. Since they were both angry at Poseidon, failius agreed to help Zeus. Zeus gave him his thunderbolts to go and kill orion, poseidon’s mortal son.
A FISHERMAN overheard this conversation AND RAN TO THE SEA. HE CALLED OUT TO POSEIDON ABOUT WHAT FAILIUS WAS PLANNING to do TO HIS SON. POSEIDON WAS GRATEFUL FOR THE INFORMATION AND GAVE THE FISHERMAN GREAT CATCHES EVERY DAY HE WENT OUT TO FISH AS A REWARD.
MEANWHILE, ZeuS HAD BEEN TELLING FAILIUS HOW TO FIND ORION. LITTLE DID THEY KNOW THAT POSEIDON WAS GAURDING HIM AND WAITING FOR FAILIUS. WHEN FAILIUS ARrIVED WHERE ORION WAS SUPPOSED TO BE, THE VILLAGERS TOLD HIM THAT POSEIDON TOOK HIM AWAY TO GUARD HIM FROM SOMEONE. WHEN FAILIUS REPORTED THIS TO ZEUS, HE WAS GIVIN MORE DIRECTIONS AND THAT DEFEATING POSEIDON WOULD BE BY FAR MORE OF A CHALLENGE THEN THE ORIGINAL TASK.
ZeuS GAVE FAILIUS a great ship and THE ABILITY TO BREATH UNDERWATER. The ship would row itself very fast. When failius set off on his trip, he was quickly encountered by pirates sent by Poseidon. Failius threw a lightning bolt at the ship and left it to sink.
Next, Poseidon commanded great rocks to arise from the deeps and destroy the bottom of the ship. The self-rowing boat was able to avoid the obstacles. That night a giant storm, sent by Poseidon, tipped the ship over.
Underwater currents swept failius away from his ship. Failius did not know where he was. He soon realized that he was still underwater. Fortunately he could breathe. Zeus appeared to him and showed him the way.
He encountered many obstacles including, sharks, giant squid, and mermen all sent by Poseidon. Failius defeated all of them with ease. A giant kraken approached failius. Failius threw a lightning bolt at it but the powerful blast could not penetrate its rough skin. The beast grasped failius and threw him into a large iron cage. While the monster swam away with failius, Hercules descended into the water and strangled the kraken. Hercules was sent by his father to save failius. Hercules led failius the rest of the way.
When they ARrIVED, FAILIUS THOUGHT OF A PLAN TO KILL ORION. HERCULES PUT ON A Disguise SO HIS UNCLE, Poseidon, WOULD NOT RECOGNIZE HIM. Hercules swiftly rushed the great god but WAS QUICKLY being grasped by Poseidon’s massive hand. WHILE POSEIDON WAS YELLING AND ASKING QUESTIONS OF HIM, FAILIUS SNUCK AROUND A ROCK AND SLEW ORION by slitting his throat with one of the thunderbolts. Poseidon summoned a huge earthquake that could be felt at mount Olympus. Zeus came and took failius and Hercules to safety. For failius’s reward, he became a god. Failius is now the god of failure.
I'd appreciate comments on how to make my story better. thanks.
